In May 2022, Maskandi duo, Qadasi and Maqhinga, played some of the hottest live venues in Cape Town courtesy of CTMA.
After having seen Qadasi (David Jenkins) and Maqhinga (Radebe Maqhinga) perform at the Alma Cafe in Cape Town, CTMA arranged for them to spend a week in Cape Town playing at some of the best live venues in the city including The House of Machines, Atheltic Club & Social, Alliance Française (for the launch of the Nouvelles Vibes series) and Cafe Roux.
To round out their week in Cape Town, they played a free show at Lumkile's Book Joint in Gugulethu.
The tour was very well received by Cape Town audiences, who got to experience traditional Maskandi sounds mixed with modern folk rhythms. CTMa worked to promote them, not only for the shows hosted but to open them up to a larger Cape Town audience.
